Set Some Crazy-Purposeful Life Goals

Set Some Crazy-Purposeful Life Goals - what and who do you want your life to be about?

(photos by Rachel Wakefield)

This post is Day 4 of the 31 Days to a Super-Purposeful Schedule series.

Who is the kindest, genuinely happiest, most purposeful family you know?

What couple makes you say, "I hope I could be as awesome and in love as they are one day."

What person is a blast to be around and just makes a difference in the lives of everyone they meet?

Did anyone specific spring to mind? I hope you have people like this in your life, but if not this amazing couple would be a great place to start.

I brought up these questions because sometimes our plans and goals can seem a little small. Just think about the typical New Year's resolutions... workout 3x/week, eat healthier, get more organized, write a blog post everyday for 31 days (kidding).

Those are really good things and I'm not saying we shouldn't do them. In fact we'll talk more about those smaller steady goals in tomorrow's post.

Today though, I want to think about the big picture.

What (Or Who) Do You Want Your Life To Be About? Set Some Crazy-Purposeful Life Goals!

What (or who) do you want your life to be about?

Whether you realize it or not, you have influence. People are watching and maybe even patterning their lives after what you do. And the people you love are probably watching the closest. So what kind of life do you want to live? What kind of difference do you want to make? Let's get a vision in mind of what kind of people we want to become.

Quick reminder: It's never too late to hit restart. Even if you haven't made the best decisions up to this point or feel like you've messed everything up lately, don't get down. Everyone has been there. Ask someone in your inner circle for helpful ideas and pray about it. God can do the unimaginable with someone who is simply willing to let Him come in and change things.

Today's Action Step:

Go through each area of your life - family, friends, work, home, health, hobbies, adventures, ministry/mentoring, etc.  - and set a goal that moves you closer to that big picture vision of who you want to be/what you want to be doing. It can be short term or long term, but be as specific as you can and set an ideal due date. If you're having trouble, make it more about the WHO you're impacting and showing love to with each goal.  (*Note: if you're already subscribed and are having trouble accessing the Free Resources page to download your workbook, email me for a refresher on the password! xo)
